Network Security guide for the home or small business network – Part 8 – Don’t be afraid to ask for help

Deep breath time. We’ve covered a lot of good topics and it’s important at this point to take a close look at what we’ve talked about and think. “Am I overwhelmed?” If so that’s fine. Maybe you don’t have enough time to think about all of this network security stuff. Maybe, no matter how hard you try it doesn’t make sense.

If you’ve tried and still can’t seem to 1) make sense of how to do any of this or 2)don’t have time or 3) are concerned that you’re not doing anything right…. don’t be reluctant to find someone who can help. Maybe a computer-inclined friend? Computer support group (linux user group?)

Maybe you just need to give a call to someone individual or business that can do a network security audit and worry about the details. That’s fine. No, you don’t need an IT department to have a computer. You can call someone for help. In fact, that’s what I do most of the time.
