Desktop Security 2010 is a rogue antivirus application. It is a successor to Total PC Defender and installs on your pc without permission through the use of malware. Once on your system it will create numerous files that it then finds during scheduled scans and it claims these files are virus infected. It will scan at windows startup and claim these files and some legitimate files are infected with viruses and the only way it can clean them is if you purchase the software. Antivirus Removal Tool List Update
Just a quick note that I’ve updated the Antivirus Removal Tool list to include VIRUS removal tools. (I originally intended the list to be those utilities to clean up a system so that it could deal with a fresh install of an antivirus product. (Can’t count how many times I’ve had to use Norton’s tool.)) Anyway, it’s such a popular page, I thought it would be a bit more complete to add links to the antivirus vendors free tools for removing viruses/virii.

Too little time…
I’ve just been back at appointments what – 2 days? And already I’ve got a ton of issues to detail. I usually don’t get into details of everything I run into because many times it’s rather tedious issues, memory install, fill in the blank virus removal for the nth time, etc. However I’ve already run across a few unique things that have taken some searching. One is still unresolved (time constraint.) That will get a revisit in the near future.
