So, I went to adsense to check my stats and I get a page that is almost blank with the only text showing being UsernamePasswdNotMatch
Ahhhhh…. what have I done to upset the Google overlords…..
It sounds like just clearing your browser cache and trying again should get you in. It’s also possible that this is an intermittent problem and is affecting more than just your account. The Digital Point Forums can be a good place to check up and see if others are having similar login problems.
I’ve run across a couple of interesting things. The first was linked to from the second one I’ll mention. I know, some time back, I visited a publicly available Google Adsense tool a few months back and at that time found an interesting tool that gave you keyword suggestions based on a term or keyword that you supplied. Interesting and very likely it gave results that you might not have thought of without the tool. However, I don’t recall being able to get quite as much information as it appears they give now…
New category for Google Adsense – I talk about it enough here…. anyway. I’ve noticed today that they’ve expanded the referrals program. When it started, the deal was $1 for Mozilla Firefox (with Google toolbar) referrals and then the Google Adsense referral for which you earned $100 (If I recall correctly), when the signup earned their first $100. Then they rolled out AdWORDS referrals which was $20 when the referral spends their first $100….. Well, now they’ve gone and added a few more options….
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I use Google adsense on these pages. Now obviously I can’t give statistics on how it does, but frankly what I’ve seen in the short time I’ve used it beats any other affiliate-type program I’ve used before. Yes, I’ve received checks from Amazon’s associates program before, but initially there you had to have a different account for each site, so I’ve got several dollars there in each of 8-10 different profiles left over from the “dark ages”…
Wow, was that 24 hours? After noticing that Google had changed somethings related to adsense, I mentioned that the adsense plugin for Firefox had quit working. This afternoon I discovered that the adsense plugin for firefox has been updated to work around the change.
You’ve probably noticed the Google Adsense ads throughout the site. I have a couple of tools that I use to monitor adsense and one is a firefox plugin that tracks impressions. This afternoon it went to zero suddenly which had me investigate. It looks as though adsense has changed their reporting just slightly this afternoon.
This article details an announcement from Yahoo about a new advertising network for small and medium size web publishers. The article compares the service lightly to Googles adsense (more details from Yahoo I’m sure to follow.) Also it mentions that in the 2nd quarter of 2005, Google brought in $630 million in “syndicated search revenue” which is a broad category including adsense.
