  • Total Security Antivirus Removal

Total Security Antivirus is another rogue security application that poses as legitimate antivirus software to dupe people into installing and then paying for it. It is related to Antivirus 360 and is perhaps the followup software from the same group. This particular pest is possibly installing itself onto systems by way of a trojan or via browser exploits. Total Security also tries to imitate the Windows Security Center. (Not exactly what you would expect from a reputable antivirus package.) Another variant of Total Security Antivirus is Total Security 2009. So, how do you proceed with Total security removal?

  • Remove Personal Antivirus

Personal Antivirus is another of those rogue antivirus programs. They claim to protect, but really their goal is to find ways to separate you from your money. Usually this is through false claims of infected files and a “we’ll fix it, if you pay us” sales model. Apparently it’s almost identical to Internet Antivirus Pro and General Antivirus. Cut from the same cloth I guess you could say. It (as the others) creates false reports of phantom infections on your system and then offers to clean them up for a cost. Nice huh? It sees invisible villains and can get rid of them for a fee.

  • Updates – Rogues and Security….

I’ve been running a series of how to remove articles related to some of the current nasty rogue security applications that has really been getting a lot of traffic the last week or so. I can see that there’s definitely demand for more. Frankly, I hate these programs that claim so many problems (that it brings) and offer to fix it if you pay. I’ve made some links to these recent ones at the bottom of my antivirus removal tool page. I’ve also put up a page on ppt security – mostly centered around powerpoint security.

So, what might you expect to see in coming days? I’ll probably be doing some more in the malware removal series because there are some particularly nasty bugs out there and a thirst for some sort of guidance in removing them. I suspect beyond that I will be focusing more on antivirus and firewall areas because those seem to be in the highest demand right now (judging by the traffic I see here.)

  • So who is behind Windows Police Pro Virus / Rogue Security Software?

As I’ve seen the continuing FLOOD of searches for some way to Remove Windows Police Pro, I’ve been starting to wonder at the who is behind this particular piece of junk software. These programs aren’t written by your average ordinary virus writer, there is really too much spit and polish on these and the end result is a racket which resembles a mob shakedown along the lines of “it’d be shame if anything happened to your important data”….. I’m intrigued by some that are speculating that there’s a connection to the Total Security 2009 package. The reason they’re saying that is some of the top sites for removal of Windows Police Pro are actually shilling ANOTHER rogue security program Total Security 2009. If that isn’t moving from the frying pan to the fire. They also suggest a connection with the XP Police Antivirus (which was yet ANOTHER of these wolves in sheeps clothing.)
