Computer security day….

A few days ago – while musing about the botnet take-down of Blue Security – I said something along the lines of “Make sure your pc’s are clean from “bugs” and help your friends do likewise. Spread the word, we need a “worldwide clean your computer with antivirus and antispyware day” or something like it. (Kind of like the installfests, Linux User groups have only an uninstallfest.)” Anyway, it looks as though Switzerland does something like this… According to incidents.org it’s called Swiss Security day.

Unfortunately, the documents are in German, French and Italian but the main link is swisssecurityday.ch and for your convenience – here is a Google translated version from the German to English… Unfortunately the machine translation is a bit harder to wade through, but you should be able to get the gist.

Lot’s of “action points” and some really good thought has gone into this. There’s also a 44 page guide for teachers and parents. Ok – not exactly the one day worldwide to clean out your computer and as many friends as you can finds pcs… but it’s a start at educating more people about computer security.
