1000th article

It seems I posted the 1000th article yesterday with the note on the recent IE vulnerability. (I wonder how many articles out of the 1000 were about IE vulnerabilities???) Anyway, nice round numbers like that are interesting to note as milestones. I haven’t been doing much in the way of updates for a bit and there are a couple of reasons. One was the great trauma with the internet connection that I’ve previously described…. what’s interesting about that….

Is that I was recently asked how my “thing with the FBI” was going…. (?!?!?!) I remember describing to someone else the event and what happened, what I suspect prompted it and that was about the size of it…. I think I would have remembered if the FBI had been involved…. It reminds me of the game of gossip that used to be played in school. You know 20 people stand in a line – the first person passes something along to the next and by the time you get to the end of the line the story is completely different. (Who knows what the story will be the next time someone asks me about it….)

After that there was a tremendous drop in traffic after Google’s “Big daddy” update, which frankly was disappointing. (1000 visits a day down to about 100 visits a day…. ouch.)

But of course, those aren’t the only reasons. I’ve been trying to NOT spend half my life sitting at the computer. Too many evenings sitting in front of a computer screen really start to get to you…. But of course, scheduled appointments have kept much of my daytime hours occupied and so… that doesn’t leave much but the evening to post.

Additionaly there was an annoying problem with my desktop pc which had been deteriorating recently and I’ll mention that in an upcoming article. (What’s the thing about a mechanics car never working?)

So, anyway, updates will be a bit more forthcoming here in coming days/weeks than in the last month or two, but I don’t expect to see a huge volume in the near future.
