Google & iTunes?
This one was hard to categorize…. There is a rumor about that Apple and Google are about to announce something related to iTunes availability at Google. There is a story that mentions this rumor saying that
“”Google is going to offer iTunes somehow on their platform,” according to the rumor,…”
Now, neither company has commented and likely won’t until an announcement is made.
I’m wondering how this could workout though. Given that Google is interested in “organizing information”, could it be that a search related to music will give options to buy related songs from the itunes store? Say for instance I search for “Paul McCartney” and among the first items listed are any related songs from iTunes? When you think about it, this partnership has the potential to drive even heavier traffic through iTunes no matter how it shapes up. It will be interesting to see IF there is anything to the rumors.
