Keeping the new PC spyware free
Spyware Confidential has the top 10 tips to keep that new pc spyware free. Some good tips here and these should be on the checklist when setting up a new pc any time of the year…

Update windows immediately, setup automatic updates and enable windows firewall (unless other is installed.)
Update antivirus and setup automatic updates. (If no AV installed, then install some – like AVG free for home users?)
Install either Opera or Firefox as an alternative browser.
Lockdown IE as explained on this page
Install at least two antispyware applications.
The list goes on to include educating yourself on how not to get infested, downloading hosts files to block known bugs, installing spy preventative programs.
Some good tips. I always think the education can go a long ways, because ultimately you have to protect yourself from yourself…
