Okay – this one is definitely strange…
From the strange category…. The register is running a story about scientists that have developed a battery running on human urine (when you think about how batteries are made this does make some sense.)
One of the potential applications is in medical uses providing a disposable (and cheap) power source for all sorts of home health tests. They claim to get 1.5 volts out of the process (comparable to a AA alkaline battery.)
I just can’t wait for people to look at this from an alternative energy standpoint…. “the lights in my bathroom are powered by me….” that has possibilities for some really funny comedy routines…. it is a renewable resource I suppose.
