Calibration before comparison
- Mechanical baseline (belts, Z offset, clean plate).
- Temp tower for the spool.
- Flow / extrusion multiplier.
- Pressure advance if firmware supports it.
- Only then export three gcode/3mf jobs from the same STL.

Review verdict
Use this protocol before arguing slicer tribalism. OrcaSlicer is an excellent daily driver for functional parts when you want calibration depth without a closed ecosystem — but the citation is the table you measure, not the logo on the splash screen. Prefer PrusaSlicer if your fleet is already Prusa-shaped; Bambu Studio when machine-specific convenience on Bambu hardware matters more than cross-brand profiles.
Rule: no “Tool Review” without versions, a table, failure modes, and a verdict. Photos of the three prints + calipers close the standard completely.
