Mozilla Firefox 1.5 release this afternoon

According to Planet Mozilla it looks like we should expect the release of Mozilla Firefox 1.5 at around 3PM EST (12 noon PST). There are no promises, but that's what I'm seeing, no exact time mind you, but ~around 3PM EST today. Likely once there is an official announcement news will spread quickly and the download servers will get pounded, so I know I'm going to be trying to get in earlier if possible. For one, I'll be adding it to my cd of stuff I carry to appointments. For many, downloading the firefox installer over a dialup is a ridiculous prospect. Reporter Tool Firefox 1.5 RC 2 comes with a new tool for reporting broken web sites (available through the Custom Install option). From the 'Help' menu, select 'Report Broken Web Site' and provide as much information as you can about the issue that you are encountering. By helping alert us of broken web sites, we can work with the webmaster to correct the problem, and make the website compatible.

If you're wondering, Firefox 1.5 doesn't pass the Acid2 CSS rendering test and was not expected to. It sounds like in order for Firefox to pass the test, we'll have to wait for the rendering engine Gecko to make it to the 1.9 release cycle. --update 2:37PM EST 11/29/05-- Released!
