HP will be making their virus throttler software avialable for Linux. Their virus throttler software detects compromised machines on a network, mails the administrator and throttles network connections to the machine, attempting to minimize the impact of the viral outbreak. (It seems as though it would be especially useful against network worms. The software has been available on the companys' ProCurve switches and Windows servers for some time but has not been available for linux until now. Several distributions are supported including Red Hat, SuSE, Red Flag, Asialinux and Miracle Linux. Licensing is in the $90 to $149 range.
