Late last night there were discoveries of the login page for Google Notebook, then came the Official Googleblog announcement of Google Notebook and of course news of the launch spread like wildfire (along with a direct link there to the plugin download. Yes, Google Notebook is finally reality. I haven't had a chance to test yet, but I did log in and download the extension for Firefox (I haven't had a chance to close out and restart firefox yet, too much going on...)

Anyway, it promises to be a handy way to deal with research that takes multiple online sessions. Of course, I've many times had a dozen tabs open in firefox for days while I've investigated potential vacation sites..... they give vacation planning as one type of activity that Google Notebook can make easier. I'm also interested in the collaborative possibilities with the ability to share notebooks.

Genealogy research for instance, could be done this way, with two distant family members sharing notes/annotations/links/etc. In fact, I wonder if it might not make for a revolution in collaborative web browsing as I recall other services promising to do. It should be interesting and I'll give another writeup when I have a chance to give it a real try.
