We know that for Windows systems especially antivirus is a must. Up to date antivirus is the MOST important though. So how do the different vendors do in responsiveness and quick antivirus definition updates...? The SecurityFix has an article on just that today. The comparison is courtesy of av-test.org.


Some of those response times look better than I expected. I've been impressed with the responsiveness of updates of AVG compared to Symantec and the summary seemed to back that up. I'm wondering why clamav wasn't on the list and would love to see how that compares. I've felt like the clamav scanners that I've got on mailservers are on par for frequent/responsive updates with RAV which they replaced.
