Is bestbuy really the bestbuy?
There’s an interesting writeup about bestbuy that essentially says they have 2 web sites, one is the public facing website, the other is an internal web site. No big surprise there I suppose, internet/intranet… the catch is
the prices on the internal site don’t necessarily match the external site. They look identically and many people apparently have lost out on a good deal because “I saw this for sale at $xxx on the web site” only to be shown in store… “well here it is at $yyyy” They say they try to remind their employees to check the external web site for the most current prices, but bestbuy is in a bit of hot water…. buyer beware – if you see a good price advertised online print it out with the date and details if possible….
