Siebel supporting Linux
This item is coming from infoworld. It looks as though Siebel will be supporting their CRM software on linux (Novell’s SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9). They didn’t comment on other supported distributions. They are among the last of the major enterprise software vendors to take the plunge of releasing their software for linux.
One of the reasons they cited was due to the growing use of Linux in Europe and in government they couldn’t continue long without having that as one of their supported platforms. It’s expected that the Linux version will be ready about the time of version 8 of their business applications suite software, expected around the middle of 2006.
