Internet Explorer 7 beta

I just read a review over at techreviewcentral of the recent beta release of Internet Explorer 7. Now, I'll go ahead and say this. I'm not a Microsoft fan. I use Linux for my desktop operating system for a number of reasons. That said, I am interesting in seeing what this new version holds because there is, at this point in time, no escaping that this will be a big browser release. They have a large market share and there will be many eyeballs viewing the world through IE 7 when it comes out.

I am glad to hear that Microsoft is catching up with innovations such as tabbed browsing. No it's not an innovation from Microsoft - although at some point I expect them to claim that. Also, they've integrated some anti-phishing tools that are supposed to detect when you're at a fraudulent site. The writer suspects this could be circumvented further fooling the viewer. What is thoroughly disappointing from everything I've heard about the feature set on this upcoming release is the lack of fixing of basic web standards support. Hopefully, those features will be dealt with before final release. The web would be a LOT easier place to design for if Explorer was fully standards compliant (CSS2 acid-test maybe?)
