Some links to purchase linux boxed set installs

OK, truth be told linux is usually thought of as a download for free and install operating system and there are LOT’s of ways to do that. But it is also available for purchase at various places, from the different distributions web sites.

Also, these are links to the product pages at Amazon. They have a new link style that I was curious to test out and see what it looked like.

SuSE Linux 10.0 (DVD)

Xandros Linux Desktop OS 3.0 Deluxe Edition

Xandros Desktop OS Business Edition

Linspire Five.0 CNR Edition

Also I’ve linked to VMware as a good solution for those using linux as a base platform to test and run other operating systems.

VMware Workstation 5.0 for Linux

The way I understand it, Amazon is beta testing some fancy looking product links. If I understand correctly visitors have a 50-50 chance of getting an enhanced kind of pop-up when hovering over the links above. As I’ve done this though, I’ve started wondering if it might be worthwhile to link to commercial software for linux. To some people that’s heresy, as the concept of open-source, free-ly available software is the recurring meme…. but, there is commercial linux software out there and perhaps in an upcoming article I’ll post more on that.
